The Company

Legin Knits was established in 1996 as a crochet headwear retailer, which provides exclusive hat styles in all seasons for men, women and children of all backgrounds and colors.

The business began out of a coach bag and at that time, the now directors sold crochet headwear at various social events within the city of Toronto, Canada. What started out as a daily “hustle” evolved into an innovative collection in the fashion industry. In addition to the product, one of the main ingredients and interesting facts to the art is that when we think about knitting and crochet, we picture the traditional vision of the rocking chair and your grandmother knitting away a throwback for your living room sofa. However, in this vision we have two young men on the front lines of hand made designs, changing the way we look at crochet today!

Crochet has been a unique and ancient art exclusive to the female gender, when it comes to the patience and delicate nature of the crochet art. With a twist to the old rules, Legin Knits inc. has broken this tradition and has made its own way presenting exclusive designs to the fashion friendly worldwide. Nigel John and Jason McBurnie have been hand crochet designers for about 10 years. They began designing headwear as customized orders for friends, family and also at many favorable events. This helped them in supplying the market with a new product. Amilcar Lightbourne entered the business as an accountant /marketing assistant. All three members are natives in the Toronto area and all have experience in retail sales. The company has managed to go international and is currently looking to solidify their import/ export business with a company in Trinidad and Tobago.

With years of experience in custom tailoring and wholesale through out North America, Legin Knits inc. has created their own market by introducing an innovative product to the fashion world.
